About Vivek Vardhini

Early period of 20th Century political climate of erstwhile Nizam State was not congenial for mass education. Great visionaries, philanthropists and social workers like Pandit S.D. Satwaleker, Dharmaveer Waman Naik, Justice Keshavrao Koratkar and others established Vivek Vardhini Sabha to inculcate the spirit of Nationalism.
A meeting of prominent personalities and Social Workers was convened on 25th October 1907 under the chairmanship of Sri Bhimrao Afzalpurkar and decided to form a society known as “Vivek Vardhini Education Society”.

V.V. College of Arts & Commerce was established on 19th November 1949. It is the first private, aided College affiliated to Osmania University. Science subjects were introduced in 1956.
Subsequently Post Graduate classes in Zoology.
Economics & Hindi were started in 1989.

Vivek Vardhini is an Institution that has an inspiring end unforgettable past. It should always be on the way of making its future, immediate as well as long distant, equally, if not more, memorable and inspiring. It should turn out generations of students who are leading success lives built on the foundation of enchanting aesthetics and strong values. It should bring out batches and batches of students who, throughout their lives, would respect those who once taught them and who would life long be proud of their institution; who would fondly remember their class and school mates and who would gratefully acknowledge that their lives and personality were moulded and enriched by Vivek Vardhini.
