Vivek Vardhini
The early 20th Century political landscape of the former Nizam State was not conducive to mass education. Visionaries, philanthropists, and social reformers such as Pandit S.D. Satwaleker, Dharmaveer Waman Naik, Justice Keshavrao Koratkar, and others founded Vivek Vardhini Sabha to foster the spirit of Nationalism.
A gathering of distinguished individuals and social workers took place on 25th October 1907, chaired by Sri Bhimrao Afzalpurkar, where it was resolved to establish a society called "Vivek Vardhini Education Society".
V.V. College of Arts & Commerce was founded on 19th November 1949, becoming the first private aided college affiliated with Osmania University. Science courses were introduced in 1956.
Post Graduate programs in Zoology followed.
Economics & Hindi were added in 1989.
Vivek Vardhini stands as an institution with a rich and inspiring history. It should consistently strive to forge its future, both immediate and long-term, aiming for it to be equally memorable and inspiring, if not more so. It should produce generations of students who lead successful lives grounded in captivating aesthetics and solid values. The institution should yield many cohorts of students who, as they go through life, will honor the teachings of their mentors and feel a lasting pride in their school; they will fondly recall their classmates and express sincere gratitude for how their lives and personalities were shaped and enriched by Vivek Vardhini.
