RANKS IN NCC
NCC Rank Holders – Why Ranks Are Awarded
In the National Cadet Corps (NCC), ranks are awarded to cadets to develop leadership, responsibility, discipline, and organizational skills. The rank system helps maintain order and creates a structured environment similar to the armed forces. Cadets who show sincerity, punctuality, good conduct, and leadership qualities are promoted to higher ranks.
Ranks are awarded based on:
Leadership Ability – Cadets who can guide and motivate others are selected for ranks.
Discipline and Conduct – Good behavior, regular attendance, and obedience are important criteria.
Performance in Training – Excellence in drills, camps, weapon training, and NCC activities is considered.
Responsibility and Teamwork – Rank holders are expected to manage cadets and assist ANOs and PI Staff.
Communication Skills – Cadets who can confidently communicate and coordinate activities are preferred.
Participation in Camps and Events – Active participation in ATC, RDC, TSC, CATC, and social service activities adds value.
Physical Fitness and Personality – Smart turnout, fitness, and confidence are important qualities for leadership roles.
